My family

Hay cuatro personas en mi familia. Yo soy, mi esposo y mis dos hijos, un hijo de seis años y una hija de tres.

Vivimos en una pequeña casa con jardín. Los niños pueden jugar un poco allí. Nuestro hijo pronto irá a la escuela, nuestra hija irá al jardín, por un tiempo. Mis hijos están en casa por la tarde. Entonces solo trabajo en la mañana.

Nuestros abuelos también pertenecen a nuestra familia. No viven con nosotros. Tienen una casa cerca, los niños suelen ir a visitarlos.

Walk in the park

La señora Álvarez sale a caminar con su perro casi todos los días. La mayoría de las veces van al río o al parque. Hoy no viaja sola. Su amiga Marta también está ahí. Me visto de forma deportiva y me gusta llevar cosas sueltas y ligeras. Voy al gimnasio tres veces a la semana y siempre uso un chándal. Cuando salgo con mis amigos, casi siempre uso jeans y una camiseta y, a veces, una chaqueta que los acompaña. Y, por supuesto, los zapatos tienen que ser cómodos y agradables. Cuando era niña, no me permitían elegir mi ropa. Mi madre hizo eso para mí. Cuando salgo, siempre estoy vestido apropiadamente. A menudo me visto de negro o gris. Raramente voy a comprar algo a la tienda de la esquina, también se puede conseguir comida allí, pero las cosas son más costosas. Casi siempre compro el desayuno en la panadería y sólo tengo que cruzar la calle. Los productos horneados son muy sabrosos y la vendedora es muy amable. Lo que más me gusta es comer una empanada, huevos revueltos y beber jugo de naranja. Siempre compro verduras en el mercado, las verduras son muy frescas allí. Cuando queremos hacer un asado vamos a la carnicería a comprar carne y salchichas. A veces voy al centro comercial con mis amigos, pero no compramos comida allí sino ropa.

Siempre vamos a la playa durante las vacaciones, nos gusta nadar y nos alegran las olas. Especialmente cuando el sol brilla y hace mucho calor, nos sentimos muy contentos en la playa. El agua es fresca y también podemos acostarnos en la playa en la sombra y leer un libro interesante. Nos divertimos mucho buscando conchas o construimos un gran castillo. Allá también podemos extender nuestras toallas.

Si el clima no es tan bueno, vamos a dar un paseo por la plaza o vamos a la siguiente ciudad y hacemos algunas compras vacacionales. Unas vacaciones en la playa siempre son buenas para tomarnos un descanso en verano.

We always go to the beach during vacations, we like to swim and the waves make us happy. Especially when the sun is shining and it is very hot, we feel very happy on the beach. The water is cool and we can also lie on the beach in the shade and read an interesting book. We have a lot of fun looking for shells or building a big castle. There we can also spread our towels.

If the weather isn’t so good, we’ll go for a walk around the square or go to the next town and do some holiday shopping. A beach vacation is always good to take a break in summer.

Karol tiene 21 años y vive en Medellín. Medellín es una ciudad muy hermosa en el centro de Colombia. Karol está estudiando medicina en la Universidad Nacional de Medellín y tiene muchos amigos allí.

La mejor amiga de Karol se llama Camila. Camila tiene 22 años y vive en la ciudad de Cali, pero a menudo visita a su amiga en Medellín.

Les gusta reunirse en el parque, la mayoría de las veces se reúnen para comer helado, a veces van de compras, a Karol le gusta comprar zapatos pero Camila prefiere comprar joyas. Por la noche les gusta ir al cine, entonces Camila suele quedarse a dormir en la casa de Karol.

Hoy es el primer día de clases. Laura está de pie frente a la escuela con su mochila, con ella están Camila, Ana y Miguel. Los niños se conocen desde el jardín de infancia. Ahora van a la misma escuela. Están esperando con entusiasmo las clases. Laura está especialmente ansiosa por las matemáticas. Camila y Ana por la escritura. ¿Y Miguel? Miguel dice que está especialmente ansioso por las pausas.

En la clase conocen a su profesor, el Señor Osorio, él es muy joven y divertido. En la primera clase los niños aprenden la canción del ABC. Todos cantan con entusiasmo.

Luego el profesor escribe las primeras letras en la tabla: A de Adiós, B de Burro.

El profesor Osorio dibuja un burro que se despide de su familia, los niños se ríen en voz alta. Entonces suena la campana que anuncia la salida de la escuela.

El primer día de escuela ha terminado. Frente a la escuela los padres esperan a los niños. Los niños cuentan sobre el primer día. Ya están deseando que llegue el día de mañana.

Today is the first day of school. Laura is standing in front of the school with her backpack, with her are Camila, Ana and Miguel. The children have known each other since kindergarten. Andrés Ramírez tiene 15 años. Vive con sus padres y su hermana en Bogotá. Viven en un gran apartamento en el centro de la ciudad, el padre de Andrés es médico, su madre es enfermera, y su hermana tiene 17 años, a ella le gusta aprender inglés y jugar tenis. A Andrés le gusta aprender matemáticas, biología y jugar fútbol.

Sara Riviera tiene 21 años. Ella vive en Cali, está estudiando administración de empresas en la Pontificia Universidad Javeriana de Cali. Vive con sus dos amigos en un pequeño apartamento en el Sureste de la ciudad. Sara trabaja todos los sábados en un restaurante como mesera. A los tres estudiantes les encanta la vida nocturna de Cali y las fiestas.

Cristian González tiene 28 años. Es un especialista en logística, trabaja en la empresa Ramo en Medellín, pero vive con su esposa y sus dos hijos en Envigado después del aeropuerto. Viven en una casa independiente. Su esposa tiene 26 años, es traductora de profesión. Trabaja en la escuela de magisterio de Antioquia. Los fines de semana la familia González hace excursiones.

Andrés Ramírez is 15 years old. He lives with his parents and his sister in Bogotá. They live in a large apartment in the center of the city, Andrés’s father is a doctor, his mother is a nurse, and her sister is 17 years old, she likes to learn English and play tennis. They live in an independent house. His wife is 26 years old, she is a translator by profession. She works at the Antioquia teaching school. On weekends the González family goes on excursions.
